Tall Rig - Perth Mini Man 40
Second outing of the DF 95 tri. Lighter winds, so prepareed a bigger rig, again using old (but nice) sails, cut down to what looked about right.
I have extended the DF 95 boom by sliding an 8mm OD tube over the existing 6mm boom section.
I am probably on the limit of the loads that the boom can withstand, and the twist in the mainsail when the gists hit show how much flex there is, but that may not be a bad thing as it is depowering automatically.
Sailed the boat with centreboard (cut down DF 95 fin), but retained the new rudder plus T flil at the back end, and the T foil holds the main hull down nicely, making the boat very well mannered.
Most enjoyable afternoon.
